Founders Message

Computer science is having a revolutionary impact on how we do science, engineering, business, etc. Simply put, it is nearly impossible to do any serious work in any engineering discipline without an ability to think computationally.

Computational thinking is a way of solving problems, designing systems, and understanding human behavior that draws on concepts fundamental to computer science. To flourish in today's world, computational thinking has to be a fundamental part of how you think and understand the world.

The mission of our school is to advance computing research, disseminate state of the art computing technologies and advocate for the widespread use of computational thinking in design of software products that improve people's lives. The school accomplishes this by seeding research activities and running basic and advanced computer science tutorials that lead to vivid demonstrations of the value of computational thinking in diverse areas of human life.

One of the school's great strengths is its ability to push experimental computer science ideas from theory to practical demonstration, continuously testing new insights by constructing prototype systems in which they are embodied.

Toward that end, we collaborate with practicioners and researchers to share, and invent new, approaches and tools that will become the basis for future software products.

With all good wishes,
